Since sunday of 1st March rages a big fire around Cape Town(South Africa) and it spread more and more.

Firefighters now fighting on over 14 separate fires!

Yesterday reached the temperatures 42 degree Celsius ... the hottest day since over 100 years there! So Cape Town was the hottest place on the planet yesterday.

Scary! My older daughter spent there the whole year 2009 as volunteer in a host family outside of Cape Town.

They are  affected by the fires also...and they sent us the photos...We hope and pray for RAIN!

Seit Sonntag ,den 1.März, wüten zahlreiche Feuer rund um Kapstadt/Südafrika. 

Gestern war dort der heißeste Tag seit über 100 Jahren und mit über 42°C auch der heißeste Ort (gestern) auf der Erde.

Die Bilder sind schon beängstigend zu sehen ! Auch die Gastfamilie meiner älteren Tochter ist betroffen.Sie wohnt in einem Ort außerhalb von Kapstadt und schickte uns die Bilder. Meine ältere Tochter verbrachte dort das Jahr 2009 als Freiwillige an einer Schule. 

Nun hoffen wir auf REGEN!

[school cone = cardboard cone filled with sweets or small presents, given to children on their first school day]

Tomorrow celebrate the school beginners in the federal state Saxony their first day at school with a little celebration(with their families) and handover of school cones.

The first day at school is each year to different times between the 16 federal states of Germany( mostly in August/September)but after the summerholidays to the start of the new school year.

That´s a German tradition for first grader(children 6/7 years old).

My little nephew Tom lives in Saxony and tomorrow he has his big day.

I have made(sewn) him as gift small school cone and filled with little things for school ,candies,...

I can´t believe that my little nephew comes already to school!

Time flies so fast!

Morgen ist in Sachsen Schulanfang .

Mein kleiner Neffe Tom ist nun auch 6 Jahre alt und kommt schon zur Schule.Wie die Zeit doch vergeht - kaum zu glauben!

Ich habe ihm eine kleine Zuckertüte als Geschenk gebastelt.

Ich freue mich immer wieder über Fotos mit genähten Teilchen von mir,die ich schon vor längerer Zeit genäht  habe und diese bis heute noch genutzt werden ,wie diese Babydecke . Die Decke war mal ein Geschenk zu seiner Geburt.

It´s always nice to see my sewn things in action and are used.

These cosy babyblanket/plaid was a gift for a little boy and now meanwhile is sitting his little brother already on this blanket .
Isn´t nice to see a green meadow and sunshine ... ?! I can´t wait for spring because I have enough from our daily grey and dark weather!

Es ist immer wieder schön zu sehen,wenn die Dinge,die man genäht hat auch genutzt werden. 

Die kuschlige Babydecke hatte ich mal als Geschenk zur Geburt eines kleinen Jungen in Südafrika genäht ... Auf der Decke sitzt mittlerweile nun schon sein kleiner Bruder :-) .

Das Foto wurde letztes Wochenende in Südafrika geknipst . Ist das nicht schön eine grüne Wiese und die Sonne zu sehen ... ?!

Last weekend my little nephew Tom visited us here.

He is now 5 years old and a funny and bright boy.

Simply unbelievable after his  much to early jump(start) into his life 5 years ago.

Am vergangenen Wochenende hat uns mein kleiner Neffe Tom besucht .

Er ist nun 5 Jahre alt und ein fröhlicher und aufgeweckter kleiner Junge! Für mich einfach unglaublich ,nach seinem viel zu frühen Start ins Leben vor 5 Jahren!
