" Beginning of Autumn / Herbstanfang "

"Autumn poem"

Woods turned red and sallow, fields of stubble yellow, and the fall begins. Crimson leaves are drifting, greyish fogs are shifting, cooler blow the winds.

Grapes in fullest cluster flaunt their purple luster through the vine-leaves bright. On the trellice growing peaches' stripes are showing painted red and white.

Agile porters springing and the servants singing, all abuzz with glee. Colored ribbons prancing through the vines a-dancing from the straw-hat free.

Fiddle and recorder sound at twilight's border in the moonlight's glance. Vintagers are spinning round and round, beginning harvest dance.

Oh, that's so pretty! How nice to have different seasons...it's summer here all year round, and now it's starting to rain ever day.

Gorgeous photos as usual. I would like to grow grapes. The poem reminds me of our wine tour and they talked about the harvest and I thought it would be neat to be there during that time. I would also like to grow grapes, but I have so many other things going on. Maybe one day.

What a beautiful poem! And, of course, lovely pictures. Autumn has started here as well.

I agree with everyone else, they are nice pictures and Autumn is a nice time, but it signals the coming of winter and I hate winter!

Hey...the Maple Leaf (not to be confused with the Toronto Maple Leafs). They are beautiful when fall comes around. We don't have that many where we live thought. Mostly yellow and orange coloured leaves. And cold. We were down to -4˚C the other morning.
