Sächsischer Kartoffelsalat / Potato salad from Saxonia

Here is my post to "Fun Monday" from Beccy .My recipe called : potato salad from Saxonia. It is an old traditional recipe of my family from Saxonia. I have taken some pictures of the diffrent steps .The ingredients you need :

1 bag potatos

1-2 onions
4-5 apples

1 glass of cucumbers

2 meat salad or 1 glass Miracle Whip Mayonaise

300 ml milk
Small sausages
1 bowl

First the potatoes peel and cook approx. 30-40 minutes.

Now you can cut the apples,onions and cucumbers in very small pieces and do everything in a bowl. Than spices a little bit with salt and pepper .The potatoes after the cooking crush or chop up and also in the bowl .Warm up the milk for short time and stir the meat salad or Miracle Whip into the warm milk. And about the potatoes pour. Everything mixed with a big spoon.

Allow to cool and than put the salad in your fridge to the next day.

Everybody ask me : What is "Meat salad"?It´s not easy to translate it !In german is it "Fleischsalat".I tryed to translate it (with help in internet) :

Meat salad (English meat salad, in french salade de viande, ital. insalata di carne, span. Ensalada de carne) tastes best of all if one prepares him himself, or buys a meat salad directly from the butcher. For meat salad pork sausage, Lyoner or Krakauer which are cut in thin stripes is used. Meat salad is prepared only with Mayonaise, gherkins and spices. In the difference in addition are used with the sausage salad often also mustard, vinegar, oil, onions and other ingredients. As a bread spread or to the colt of hollow tomatoes or hard-boiled eggs meat salad is used with pleasure.
