Yesterday was " Girl´s Day " here in Germany . This is a day about professional future prospects for Girls and are they invited to an open day for girls - the Girls'Day.The day is a school project to girls in the age of class (grade) 5 to 10 . Informations about this project you can read here :http://www.girls-day.de/english_informationNathalie went at the work from her dad (bureau,office) . Nathalie is at the moment in class (grade) 6 and she has still 6 years time before she finish the school . So she has still some years time to thinking about her professional future . At the moment Nathalie likes a work something with animals or weather research (Meteorology).
But time goes by so fast ... !

Gestern war der alljährliche " Girl´s Day " und Nathalie verbrachte einen Tag mit auf der Arbeitsstelle ihres Papas . Der " Girl`s Day" ist ein Schulprojekt für Mädchen der 5 . - 10 . Klassen und soll zur beruflichen Orientierung dienen und einen kleinen Einblick in die Arbeitswelt nach dem Schulabschluss zeigen . Klasse und noch hat sie ein paar Jahre Zeit sich Gedanken um ihre berufliche Zukunft zu machen . Im Moment möchte sie noch einen Beruf , in dem sie etwas mit Tieren zu tun hat oder in der Wetterforschung (Meteorologie).
Aber die Zeit geht so schnell vorbei ... !

What a great idea. It's good that Nathalie has an idea of what she would like to do, Mollie only knows the things she wouldn't like to do!
Den Girls Day fnde ich eine tolle Sache..wenn ich dran denke,wie das bei uns damals war...ein Tag als "Praktikum" und Ende:-(
Aber bei Natalies Kreativität wird sie doch hoffentlich in keinem Büro hängenbleiben

It was 'take your daughter to work day' here yesterday. My 6th grader wanted to go to work with her dad, but it all fell through - I think he thought it would have been too boring for her. She has NO idea what she wants to do when she grows up.
eine tolle Sache und dann darf "praktisch" beim Papa geschnuppert werden, das ist ja suuuuper !!!

Time does go so fast. I was going to ask in the art post whether she was going to be an artist. Our C (13) would like to be a vet. J would like to do music. T is not sure but after his sailing trip may want to do Marine Biology. Z will do some kind of media, I think. She is only 11 so may change her mind.
Time does go by fast. I can hardly believe another week has gone by. And I'm sure that before you know it Natalie will be all grown up and you'll wonder where all that time went.
hi steffie what a good idea for the girl to have a glimpse of worklife. Than they get a better sense of purpose.
na, immerhin hat sie schon Ideen was sie vieleicht werden will..mein 19 Jähriger hat noch keinen blassen Schimmer was er mal werden soll*seufzt*

Bei uns hieß es "Zukunftstag" und auch die Jungen durften das zweite Jahr bereits "schnuppern", letztes Jahr Amt bei Mama und dieses jahr als Erzieher bei Hannah im Kiga :-) tolle SACHE!
Und wie ich sehe, ein voller Erfolg bei euch......

Girls Day. I like that! What a great idea.
An excellent choice of career and one in which I do hope will be achieved.
I hope many countries around the world will adopt similar idea for both girls and boys.
