On the weekend visited us here our friends from Schuettdorf in the near from Rheine (Lower Saxony).Schuettdorf is a nice little town in the near from the Netherlands. We know us already short time after the reunion of East - and Westgermany 1990 /91. At this time we lived still in the near from Dresden (East) and Silvia with her family in the West of Germany.
Our first daughters were born in the same year 1989. We have all 2 daughters, Lisa and Annika - and my kids Anne and Nathalie. We as parents are all in the same ages too .
Our friendship began with the exchange of letters, little gifts and short visits. And from year to year is grow our friendship more and more and we participated in different family events to example baptism of our children. So is Silvia (mom of Lisa and Annika) Nathalie´s godmother. It´s very interesting to seen how grow big our children.
Okay,we had a very nice weekend here together and we hope all to see us soon again. On the pictures you can see Anne (soon 18), Lisa (18),Annika (15) and Nathalie (11).

How wonderful of your "East-West" story - so delightful that both your families have continued with such a super friendship and for the kids too!!
Many changes I am sure = you have seen since the wall came down and the unity between East and West.
You all look as if you have had a super weekend - and hope the weather was good too.

It is wonderful to have long lasting friendships. We have friends that live about 12 hours drive from here. We met when my first and her first were new babies. I had my second, then she had hers. I had my third and 4 hours later she had her third. We call them the twins. I had a fourth and they bought their house the same day. We have been friends for a long time and we will go visit in a couple weeks and stay with them. It is so great to watch the kids grow up and have photos of them when younger and older.
How lovely! A wonderful story of your friendship.
I agree with the others, it's such a wonderful story!
